Janet Woodley is the Acting Strategic Lead for the Accommodation Finding Service in the Housing Solutions & Support Service within Birmingham City Council. She has worked within Brent Councils Diverse Community as PA to the Chief Executive and Head of Housing, Connexions PA, Young Persons Support Worker, START Plus referral co-ordinator and now as a Housing Options Officer for over 9 years. She manages a team of 11 Accommodation Finding Officers and oversees the procurement of private rented properties from private and social sector landlords and housing applicants from the Homeless register across region. Under her leadership the team has build significant relationship with private sector landlords, letting agents, property developers and Housing Associations, whilst achieving as remarkable results with 500 completed lets over last 2 years. Through the Accommodation Finding Team, the council matches private landlords with homeless families to provide them with a sustainable home, along with support to help families transition into a tenancy. Many landlords and agents work with us because of the long-term securityand reliability they can find by housing a tenant with us. In return there are various financial incentives for landlords so they can choose the one that is tailored to their needs. The services offered by her team has been remarkable and the testimonials receive from landlords and tenants has been immensely overwhelming.
